WAVES Team Meeting 2024

We are very pleased to host the inaugural annual WAVES meeting at the University of Western Australia in Perth, Western Australia over 2nd-6th December, 2024. WAVES team members and friends are warmly invited to join us for this meeting.

Preparations for the WAVES survey are now in full swing, with first 4MOST observations now only a year away. Input catalogues are now available and photometric redshift ancillary products have been generated, target selection for spectroscopic follow-up with 4MOST is being finalised, and therefore now is the perfect time to start thinking about the most exciting part… science!

Why come?

The 2024 WAVES meeting will have a number of goals:

  • Get to know the WAVES team!
  • Become familiar with the new Science and Technical Working Groups, and get involved in the working groups that align with your interest and expertise.
  • Discuss opportunities for early WAVES science.
  • Identify scientific overlap and collaboration opportunities between WAVES and other 4MOST surveys (like 4HS and TiDES).

The meeting will be a mixed format, including a number of talks and also discussion/workshop sessions (programme currently in development). We will host the meeting in a hybrid format, allowing online attendance for those unable to travel to Perth. Please reach out if there’s something specific you’d like to see from the meeting!
